I have a few minutes before things really get started at Otakon Press Relations, a.k.a. Press Ops. So before I forget it, a few notes on the weekend so far.

I finally got a chance to get together my pictures from Saturday of Otakon 2011. This took longer than it might have, because some of the photos, of my friend The Water Ballerina's water ballet, were taken with my video camera (which can take still shots and has a better zoom than my regular camera). Now that I'm done with the new issue of Wild Violet, I can begin to get caught up on things I wanted to share in my blog. At long last, here are photos from Friday of Otakon 2011.

We're back from Otakon! Actually, we were back Monday night, but I've been either sleeping or taking care of Kung Fu Panda since then.

( Adjusting to a new way of living. )

When we last left our heroine (me!), I had tossed and turned, trying to figure out a better way to run my department at Otakon. For the first time, I was a department head, running Press Relations.

The driving drums and keyboards fueled my movements as I bounced up and down, back and forth to the space lounge sound of Stereolab. Red, blue and yellow lights flashed, punctuating the music. I could see the lights through my eyelids as I let the music carry me.

The evening was ending much better than it had begun.

It's going to be fun typing this today, because I cut my left pinky pretty badly last night, rushing to make dinner. Never handle sharp knives when you're still recovering from Otakon!
